Heard again...

The sweet sound of Baby Collins #2's heart beating! I'm driving myself batty over here!! Someone talk me down off this ledge! The docs feel great about the pregnancy. I just worry like crazy. I have a Level 2 ultrasound when I get back from Indiana. They'll be able to see more detail. It's just protocol for any "not completely normal" pregnancy (which includes losing a twin obviously) but doc told me today he has NO reason to be worried. I always said I wouldn't find out the sex but Mike and I are a little surprised-out for this pregnancy already. What do you all think?? Find out or no???

  1. Normally I would say to not find out-being surprised is so fun! But I can totally understand the peace that will come from knowing. Then you can pray for your little one by name!

  2. I'm with Kaitlin!!!! I love the idea of praying for this baby by name.

So happy you heard the heartbeat again!

  3. I've never found out with any of my kids (and don't plan to with this one, either) so normally that'd be my vote. But if you're going to have a lot of ultrasounds with this pregnancy, you might as well find out because you'll probably see his/her goods sooner or later :)

  4. We never found out with the others BUT I just LOVED knowing this baby was a girl! Imagine what it would feel like to know...would you regret finding out or rejoice over having another peek into who this person is? It's great either way....still so happy for you!

  5. I always wanted to know. If the baby was right there in front of me I wanted to know all about him or her that I could (and I'm not patient). You do what you want to do and enjoy every minute! Congratulations!

  6. N, I am SO sorry, I am just finding out the news about one of the babies now.
I'm happy to hear that the other baby is thriving. I will continue to pray for you and your family.

  7. Yay for that heartbeat! :-D You know I *always* thought I would want to keep the sex a surprise but you know... the more I think about it the more I think whenever our day comes we'll find out. I guess I feel like I've had to wait for everything, why wait for something I actually have a little control over? I like your perspective... "surprised out".. makes perfect sense. So I vote find out the sex... I imagine that is just as special in its own way to keeping it a surprise. Plus names are easier to discuss. :)

  8. We waited for our first and it was fun. Then we were going to wait for our second, too. I had ovarian cancer while I was pregnant, the baby survived surgery, etc, so, to use your term I was a little "surprised out." We found out the sex. Then we've been finding out ever since. However, if I'm blessed with a fifth pregnancy I will wait. (I think.)
